We're so thrilled to welcome you all to the 2022 Neighborhood Leadership Summit! In this quick, 5-minute session, Nextdoor's Head of Community, Caty Kobe, will share everything you need to know to get the most out of your afternoon.
As we all have collectively experienced throughout the last three years, the places where we live can be a shining light for hope, inclusion and helping each other out during challenging times. In our opening session, Nextdoor's CEO Sarah Friar will take a few moments to walk us through the neighborhood trends we've seen in 2022, and share powerful stories about the impact you all have made in your respective communities this year.
Tamika Catchings, former WNBA player, small business owner, and non-profit founder will sit down with Nextdoor's co-founder and CTO, Prakash Janakiraman, to share about the her time in the WNBA and what it really means to be a true team player, the 'why' behind starting a foundation focused on youth empowerment, her interest in becoming a small business owner, and the overall importance of servicing as a leader in her community.
In 2020, US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy named loneliness as a public health crisis. Loneliness impacts our physical and mental health and decreases our longevity. As the Covid-19 pandemic shifts to the endemic stage, how do we decrease loneliness and rebuild our connections? Our experts will share statistics, tips and stories that help destigmatize loneliness, inspire real life connections and share ways that neighbors can safely reconnect with each other.
